The post I have scheduled for the A.M. is kinda depressing. But it felt really good to get it out. And I’m surprisingly the better for it.
In fact, I thought I’d share some sticky sweet music with ya to show you where my head is at:
Unadulterated 80s sexyfun. Enjoy!
Awesome song! That entire album is really good. I’m pretty sure this is the most 80’s song ever.

Lovin’ it! Definitely one of the best 80s hairpop groups. I know they’d rather be called hair metal, but COME ON. 😀

Oh, it’s definitely hair pop! You want to be called hair metal, you need to be slightly more out there and off the wall, like Motley Crue and Guns ‘N Roses. And even then, they were pretty pop also 🙂

Ahhhhh THE CRUE! And GNR! Oh boy, tonight is getting more fun by the minute. 😉

Okay. How about Ratt? Cinderella? Hmm. Those aren’t hair metal at all. SKID ROW.

If you’re gonna start adding them to the list, then you gotta add Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, and Poison. Definitely Poison.

…I’m listening to Twisted Sister as we type! Definitely Whitesnake and Poison. And and Warrant! And Slaughter! And Firehouse!

And Night Ranger, and Tesla, and Winger. Oh, and Bon Jovi, but no one thinks that of them anymore anyway!

Tesla! Totally a Tesla fan. Haha and nobody thinks Bon Jovi, cuz they’re still going. But they aren’t the same. Love my 80s Jovi. And and and. Oh gosh. Beastie Boys! But they don’t count. Not in that genre. Now I need Beastie Boys.

Haha, love the Beastie Boys. And I wanna include Nelson, but they don’t count either. But their hair was magical.

Oh my god, Nelson totally had magical hair.
You’re totally my 80s buddy now. 🙂

Haha, awesome. Does that mean we both need to get Frankie Says To Relax t-shirts? And when I say get, I mean me go find the one I already have 🙂

Ohmygosh, I’m super jealous. Now I need to buy one so we can be 80s twinsies. Hmph.
We’ll be so cool. Totally gnarly.

When I was a kid Twisted Sister started their career just up the block from me. No lie. It is the truth. Small bar in a rural town. Back in the day, when bars left their doors open and you could hear the music. When the bar let out, it was pandemonium!

That sounds AWESOME. Let’s rewind the clock so I can come hang out! 😀

Gah! High school and college MTV coming back to me now…where the hell are Nina Blackwood and Martha Quinn and Downtown Julie Brown? 😉

Downtown Julie Brown and Martha Quinn and Kennedy! Wow, back when the M in MTV meant something! I’m totally drawing a blank on Nina. Grrr. Google!

She was one of the original five VJs when the network started. Forgot about Kennedy though…

Ha! Killer. Must get ‘Pyromania’ on CD. Saw them live once before they went all soft pop goo.
Steph, indulge my idiocy…how do you get video in your posts? I tried and it didn’t work.

No idiocy, woman! I had to do some diggin.
First, in YouTube (which is the only place I’ve done it from thus far), you click on “Share” beneath the video. Then click “embed” and copy that html linky thingy. Then you can paste that into your post. I always preview it first to make sure it looks right, but you probably do that anyway.
I hope that helps!! And I’m super jealous you saw Def Leppard live, back before they went mushy and the lead started forgetting lines!

Thanks for the info and for telling me I ain’t a dummy..I’ll give it a go next time I feel the need to share some music. 🙂
It’s cool to be at the age where every band I went to see seems uber cool (it’ll happen to you, too!). RUSH in their heyday were amazing..still are, technically. Saw John McLaughlin live in Vancouver; he’s great no matter what his age. Most happy about seeing Bauhaus on their last tour. Didn’t see them in the glory years, but damn! They’re always good. Peter Murphy, of course. Pink Floyd when they were Pink Floyd. Fleetwood Mac BEFORE Stevie Nicks got cleaned up. Caught The Romantics in a small venue right after their hit. Saw Melissa Etheridge on a COLLEGE tour, for fuck’s sake…

Wait a fucking minute. Just stop right there. Because I can only focus on one thing in that comment (mostly): You did NOT see Pink Floyd! Ohmygod. No fucking way. I’m jealous of all the concerts – I haven’t actually been to many. But Pink Floyd is one of those bucket list kind of things that will NEVER be scratched off. Because ya know. That boat sailed. 😦

Yeah, I know. I missed the Zeppelin boat, tho.

Zeppelin. Le sigh. I may have to make it a Zeppelin morning now.

Oh yeah, that’s got one of my all time favorites on there – The Ocean. But I gotta tell ya…my favorite album is In through the Out Door. I wore some Zeppelin OUT yesterday!

Well, it’s one of the albums that’s got mostly songs they wrote rather than ripped off….mostly. 😉 Actually quite sad about that; fallen idols and all that.

I hear ya…most of them do sell out in the end. It is sad.

I love that song…fucking awesome. I was the only girl in my class who loved Def Leppard…go figure!
