[DAY 24] 30-Day Song Challenge

I’m at work. On a Saturday. So in my final activity on the clock, and the only non-work-related thing I’ve done for the last seven hours, I present to you day 24.

Day 24: A Song by a Band You Wish were Still Together

I was gonna choose something by The Mars Volta, but my brain totally forgot they reunited. So now I’m stumped. HmmMMmm… How about something by Daft Punk? I was pretty bummed when they recently broke up, so I think it’s appropriate. Plus, I’m trying not to “cheat” and choose something by a band that ended because someone kicked the bucket.

“Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” is not my favorite song of theirs, but I do enjoy it. And it’s the first one that came to mind.

Enjoy.

Nevermind, this one is way better.

Hit me with one of yours.

  1. I find myself going back to this band now and again and wish that they were still making music together. I was going to say Ben Folds Five but the fact that I got into Soul Coughing right after they broke up made me feel a longing to experience what it would have been like to be waiting for their new release and see them live. I heard it was a contentious situation and likely best they broke up but still: I fucking love their jams.

I wanted to go with a deeper cut and kinda a weird one but I love this damn beat.

I remember I found this playlist of nerd rock from the early 80s and I realized I’d have been absolutely into it if I had been more a decade earlier. https://youtu.be/9bTWF7eirJw

This one is perhaps an odd choice since I really only know maybe half of the album that it came from but this one song in particular made me yearn for more. https://youtu.be/2ZY2JgWSesw

I realize I’m probably lucky in how many of my favorite bands are still together. It took a bit for me to even think of who to add here.

    Doobs.
