Liebster Award

LiebsterOkay, folks. Don’t shoot meh! I’ve been nominated for another award by Paul over at palfitness. Thank you! And you can thank him, too, by clicking your way to his blog. 🙂

It looks as though the main purpose of the Liebster Award is to draw attention to some of the newer and/or less followed blogs on the block. I do appreciate the honor and hope I can help spread some attention around, too!

The Rules:

  1. Make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated you and include the Liebster Award sticker in the post.
  2. Nominate 5-10 other bloggers and notify them of this in one of their posts.
  3. All nominated bloggers are to have fewer than 200 followers.
  4. Answer the 10 questions posed by your nominator and create 10 different questions for your nominees to answer. Or, you can repeat the same questions.
  5. Copy these rules into your post.

Nommies:

No, not nominees. NOMMIES. It’s yummier that way. By the way, if y’all have already done this or just don’t like doing them…no hard feelings. Just enjoy! And everybody else get over there and check ’em out.

  1. Jules at Opposite Minds .
  2. Beeps at Letters Never Meant to be Delivered.
  3. Ndumiso Mncwabe at Music Smells Like Noise.
  4. Eva at Notes from The Cupcake Rescue League.
  5. Phoenix Crimson.
  6. B.G. at Getting Through Anxiety.

Y’all better bump these people up above 200. Make it snappy!

I’m totally being lazy and not finishing out 10 nominees! I had fits finding follower counts to keep ’em below 200. And while I’m certain there is an easy way to figure this out, I already told you I’m being lazy! I’m all full and fat and happy off beef & veggie goulash and hot-water cornbread. Omnom. Besides, if you five nommies don’t know each other – get busy knowing each other! And all you other chatters and lurkers, get busy knowin’ ’em!

Questions Posted to Moi:

  1. What do you prefer, comics, books or movies? Books, comics, movies. In that order.
  2. Where are you from? A dark and stuffy place, also known as “mother.” But you probably wanted me to say Deep South, U.S. Let’s pretend that’s what I said to begin with.
  3. Where would you like to travel to? Everywhere. Back to France, this time in the southern provinces. The rest of the National Parks in the U.S. Portugal. Prague. Budapest. The Shire. (Shut up; it’s real.)
  4. What is your favorite food? Creole and/or Cajun. If I had to pick one dish, it would be crawfish étouffée. Or mamaw’s chicken & dumplins.
  5. What is your favorite sport? Do video games count? Yes? Then video games. Look, I can play them competitively if that makes them sportier.
  6. Do you play any sports? See numero fiveo.
  7. What is your career plan? To work until I die. Or win the lottery, in which case I would scrap the career plan and work on numero threeo.
  8. What kind of reading of blogs category wise is your favorite? Categories? Uh. Is long-form a category? How about personal missives? Uhm. Oh oh, I know I know! My favorite blog category is “really good shit with cool and engaging authors.”
  9. Are you married, single or dating? Yes.
  10. If you could be anyone who would you like to be? Like, other than myself?  Oh shit, I almost came up with something witty and funny. Probably someone imaginary or fictional. (That’s totally not the same thing.) Instead, I’ve got it. I want to be the person someone sings this song to (and fucking means it):

That or Gandhi.

Your questions, should you choose to accept them:

  1. Whom is your favorite Muppet and why?
  2. If you could be anywhere in the world right now (aside from where you are), where would it be and why?
  3. I believe broccoli and collard greens should be banned from our solar system. Discuss.
  4. If you were a bumper sticker, what would your slogan be?
  5. Just what the hell are Smurfs, anyway? Also, what is your favorite cartoon (past or present or both)?
  6. Sweets or savories? What’s your favorite of your chosen one?
  7. Do you think cats will someday rule the world?
  8. If you had the chance to start over again, on another planet made habitable by NASA, would you do it? Suppose you would have everything you could need to sustain you, and you would be part of a village of others like you. Would you do it? Why or why not?
  9. New stuff or antiques? Why?
  10. What do you wish I had asked you? What would your answer have been?

Ta da! You totally want to answer those random-ass questions. I know you do. Get busy, people!

Also. If anyone else would like to answer these questions, please feel free to do so in comments or on your own pages! I’m dying to see some answers. 🙂

  1. I think I shall answer the questions. I didn’t want to if you didn’t want me nominated, but since you said you wanted to nominate everyone…

1.) I don’t have a favorite Muppet. I like the commercial for the car (?) I think they’re in, but don’t see the big deal about them.
2.) I’d love to go to Italy. After taking Art History and learning about the paintings, I think it would be amazing. Plus I’m part Italian.
3.) Broccoli is disgusting, though I don’t mind it with cheese! 🙂
4.) B.G. Trying my hardest, one step at a time.
5.) Smurfs are little blue creatures that live in a tiny smurf village where somehow, there’s only one Smurfette. My mom collects them so I know. My favorite cartoon is Peanuts, specifically Snoopy. 🙂
6.) Hmm…what’s the difference? Are sweets like chocolates and Savories like Chips? I’d have to go with Chips. Take 5s are my favorite candy bar though.
7.) Ha, no! Though as much as people seem to for some reason like the videos, you would think so!
8.) No. I just have no care for going up in space. Not to mention, once we all went up there, things would inevitably go wrong…just saying.
9.) Hmmm….tough one. New stuff is always nice but antiques often have extra sentimental value. Can I say both?
10.) Um….what am I excited about currently? Getting my Behind the Scenes Back to the Future book in the mail and my early Hanukkah gift! 🙂

    1. Wait! I haven’t read these yet – it’s not that I don’t want you nominated!!! I had hell finding how many followers people had, and I was trying to keep it to people who have fewer than 200. Don’t you have shittons more than that? If you don’t, I’m editing this post and nominating you! 🙂

      1. Ha! You don’t have to nominate me and I know it’s hard not to just nominate everyone (I always feel bad excluding people). I just have this thing that I feel bad answering if people don’t specifically nominate me. I have 179 followers.

      1. Hahaha! Okay, okay! I just loved them so much growing up.

And thank you! I thought I would have to google interesting questions, but they just kept popping up in my head. I’m super stoked for answers, and you’re the first! Thank you!!

By the way, post amended. It’s a crime that you aren’t over 200 by now. A fucking crime. We’ll fix that.

      2. Ha, thanks! I just hope you don’t feel that if you didn’t nominate me that I’d be mad, that’s not it. I just didn’t want to answer questions if you didn’t intend on me being nominated. I just wanted to be respectful. Thanks for the nomination!

      3. I understand, I promise, and you did NOT come across as mad. When I made the post, I had you listed and then was like…she may be annoyed cuz I nominated her last time AND she’s got shittons of followers. Teaches me to assume. 🙂
